Yeah talk about "belts and suspenders". I don't get it. It wasn't that bad of a break on a non-weight bearing bone.

Stainless screws must have been "on special" at the Home Depot!

Wow.

Hope you recover completely!

Yeah right?
Thanks guys.
Maybe surgeon (butcher) gets paid per screw or something. Maybe that's an Obamacare feature.

I see the guy who did this to me tomorrow. If one believes the lies, this half cast thing gets taken off and I get a boot walker and can start walking on it in the boot only with crutches and maybe down to one crutch in a week.

But that's if nothing has changed. Dr hasn't said a word to me since talking to him pre surgery. I better be walking soon (in that boot) or I am going to be f-ing irate.

I'm on a flying ban for another week. And then I'll be working away on a grueling 10 day job (why I need to be able to walk so badly). So I likely won't be back to the moto location until July at soonest.

Finally took my first step today with only a single cane. I'm almost 100% weight bearing on fracture while in the boot.
I have to say I'm pretty thrilled! Finally!!!

Thanks guys. I did a lot of strenuous activity on it the past 8 days on a major work trip.
I was climbing some rocks and walking around a lot. The ankle is not too swollen today so I am pretty damn relieved.
I have an easy off week and then more easy work after that.
I think I will get cleared from the boot altogether next Thursday and then probably be walking wounded status for several weeks with some PT mixed in to help.
