Centre stand

Postby Zrx1100boy » Thu Aug 30, 2018 2:45 pm

I have an E6 and when it's on the centre stand both wheels touch the floor, neither will rotate. Is this nonormal? Or is the stand or frame bent? It handles pretty good on the road.

Doubt if the frame is bent. Do you have a standard shock fitted? Longer shocks tend drop the wheel down. Might be worth checking your shock linkage as well in case you have a ton play in the bearings which would cause the wheel to sit lower when on centre stand

Has the previous owner "flipped" your eccentrics? This is a quick and simple change that improves the handling by raising the rear of the bike and so decreasing rake angle a bit.

In this image: (this is a random web image, not a ZZR)

shows the eccentrics in the flipped state. Stock, the shaft would be in the upper half (ie flipped 180 deg).

The downside of this is the rear wheel hardly (if at all) lifts off the ground on the main stand...

I don't can't see that the zzr600 has concentric adjusters on the swinging arm.

Oops! My bad. Saw 1100 in your handle without looking properly (aka "bloke-look")...
