Junction box relays

Postby Copernicus » Wed May 31, 2017 8:59 am

I started to hear a buzzing noise from my junction box when starting the bike. Eventually it started, but one day it will not. I picked up a used one from eBay, received it, and it has the same problem. So I opened my original one to see the culprit. 2 relays sit inside, 1 for the starter, and possibly the headlight is the other. The relays are nec mr 301-n9. Been looking for replacements, and due to excessive post cost, (17.00), for a relay! I turned to good ol aliexpress. Waiting for a reply from a seller of relays over there. Anyone here replaced those relays? What did you use and from where, and what cost? Cheers.

Sorted. The start switch contacts became soiled...!! A simple case of cleaning them was all that was required. Ahh well...I have a spare JB.

I'll remember that one. I wondered about that. I know it happens with some cars...

Purchased a set of 5 new relays from Ali express.....total cost 2euro. I don't need them, but now have them, instead of giving 20-70 EUR to an eBay seller,.... f'king rip-off merchants.
