The Azaros were a good tyre, I'm not 100%, but I think they had a lower silica content than the Storms and so were slightly slower to get up to temp, especially in the wet. The carcass design was different aswell, less 'reactive' footprint.

Just changed from a blackbird to a ZZr1400 and still running it in
it came with the standard 014s ,
I had about 3 sets of Road Attacks on thge bird and I really like them for feel and lastability
When the 014s are ready for changing I was thinking of either Road Attacks or maybe the new Pirelli Angels

Still using Storms - find them excellent and at least last longer than 014's - going to Italy for the GP in May and would have needed a tyre change mid holiday - hardly tourer credentials!

I had Avon Storms on my 1100. bought the 1400 and i again found the Bridgestones to be lacking on feel and providing little in the way of confidence in the front. Changed to the Avon Storms, all i can say is, what a transformation. Handling, cornering, feedback and wet riding are all much better, and the front now feels as if it is planted! Avons get my vote! :P

Anyone tried the new Pirelli Angels? The guys at Seastar Superbikes (Kawasaki & Ducati dealers) are raving about them! :)

HI,which tyres did you go far in the end, as I am now where you were when you put this post up ??

Having just bought another ZZR1400 complete with its stock Bridgestone BT014 tyres, I know I will be looking at replacing them between 4-6 weeks from now. They tend to last about 2000-2500 miles of mostly two up riding :( I can't afford that expence so often :o

My last one I ran on Michelin Road Pilot 2ct's and got about 7000 miles from them, they gave good feel and feed back as well :D

What other tyres have you good people used on the ZZR1400 and how did you get on with them :?:

Avon gets great reviews. Ill try them when my stock tyres are worn. Only done 600 mile, 200mile plodding.Another 200 with the odd thrash and the last 200 as normal. For 600 miles ,they look half worn. I would say they dont grip good ether. From cold they slip a bit. Wet riding puts the Willy's up me. Slip slip slip. A lot of power, but still poor grip in the wet.
