ZZR600 for 18st rider?

Postby pumpkinboy1991 » Fri Mar 16, 2018 11:22 am

Hi all,

Trying to decide between buying a ZZR600 and ZZR1100. I've just passed my unrestricted Cat A license and have a fair bit of experience riding bikes over the years, however mainly off road! I like the idea of a 600 as it is certainly more sensible as a new road rider, but I'm not sure I like the idea of riding a bike as a heavy rider, which already has a lot of comments suggesting it is easy to ground the centre stand. Perhaps there are mods that can be done to avoid grounding? Or is the 1100 more suitable for a 6ft tall, 18st rider?

All opinions and advice welcome!

I m 16 and a half stone and have never bottomed out the standard shock on my Zzr600e. I have just upgraded to a hyperpro spring and put cartridge emulators in the front. I 'll let you know how I get on , but both bikes will cope admirably better midrange will make the 1100 easier to ride, the real decision is 160mph or 170mph :dirtbike: :dirtbike:

I bought a ZZR600 as my first bike, im 183cm and 100kgs. They say the suspension can be a bit soft, which I can agree on, but its no problem at all. More than enough power, fun bike to ride (went to italy and back last summer!) and my only issue was the center stand would sometimes scrape on sharp hairpin turns.. :-)
